Try 3D DSS

Efficient Multi-Path Routing

This transformative project enables rapid identification of Pareto-optimal routing alternatives, allowing stakeholders to focus on the most relevant solutions and streamline decision-making.

The 3D DSS identifies optimal routes instantly, helping stakeholders focus on solutions that save time, reduce costs, and balance key objectives.

The 3D DSS not only models power transmission lines based on stakeholder interests, regulatory requirements, and planning objectives — it also evaluates user-defined routes against these same criteria. This unique capability empowers planners and stakeholders to test and refine their ideas within a transparent, data-driven framework.

Users can assess how well their intended routes align with key objectives such as minimizing construction costs, protecting ecosystems and landscapes, reducing risks, or increasing bundling with existing infrastructure. The 3D DSS then highlights which alternative paths would better meet Pareto-optimal conditions, enabling more informed, efficient, and consensus-driven decision-making.

Demo Version

The demo version of the 3D DSS illustrates its core functionality using a simplified dataset based on a sample transmission line corridor between Innertkirchen and Mettlen in Switzerland. The included data is intentionally limited and serves purely to demonstrate how the system works — it does not reflect the full scope or quality of the data used in our published research.

Disclaimer: The demo contains only example data. The full decision model and the comprehensive data used in our studies are documented in the Methods section.
