Blogbeitrag Swissgrid

New 3D DSS version launched
We implemented many new features that support the analysis of different corridors and paths. For example, defining a scenario is now based on objectives that a user wants to pursue. The 3D DSS automatically computes, to what extent the objectives have been fulfilled and shows these results graphically in a spider chart and on a…

New Master’s Thesis starting in September 2019
We are pleased that Daniele Moncecchi @DanieleMonce from Politecnico di Milano will write his Master’s thesis as part of the 3D DSS project, aiming at answering the question: What is a valley? The novel approach should keep transmission line paths short and the negative impact on landscape and environment low.

Study about new decision model running
Happy new year! The 3D DSS project is looking forward to achieve ambitious goals this year! Thus, we are looking for transmission line planners who are willing to fill out a questionnaire regarding our decision model. Please find more information here or participate directly in our questionnaire in English or German.

New results found in decision-making!
Our Master student, Konstantinos Schoinas, investigated the effect of different questioning approaches for determining the weights of contributing factors when planning power transmission lines. Contrary to previous work, he found out that there is no difference whether the direct rating method or AHP is used. However, using AHP might reflect the decision-making process better and…
