Planning power transmission lines has never been easier Our 3D Decision Support System (3D DSS) helps urban planners and decision-makers to plan power transmission lines. We use latest 3D technology combined with Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to do research in how transparency can be fostered and acceptance can be increased when communicating a grid expansion project to involved stakeholders and to the public.
The 3D Decision Support System improves public involvement in grid expansion projects because it quickly computes alternative routes for new power transmission lines. It makes line planning more efficient and more transparent, which may lead to a higher acceptance of the projects.
